Well expressed. I just got up in the night due to post surgical pain again. Recovering. Living with multiple sclerosis and the after effects of a surgery. I wrote about this as well while up in the wee hours. Hoping by now your shingling has subsided or the roofing project will soon be complete. πŸ˜‰

This helped during a hard day. Thank you. I’m fatigued with grieving = 1 year. Feels like it will be endless

It is so interesting how the body knows when it is safe to throw its tantrum. I have chronic migraines, and they almost always occur directly after a major event. I had several after Holy Week. I'm grateful that they do that, but it is never a delightful experience to be migraining.

Great article Mary Anne! I first got shingles during my first full year in

Seminary. It was just awful…like touching a live wire every 10 seconds…couldn’t sleep, couldn’t do much of anything. And as you noticed (I did not at the time) it was just AFTER my first set of exams! So , gratefully not DURING! But that was the stressor for sure. I am right now in one of those lovely β€œsmaller re-attacks” that

Probably we’ll occur at various times in my life. This was while I was on vacation! Our first (and probably only Viking Tour) up the Danube! A lovely relaxing time, but started getting the electric shocks and then suddenly the red blotch on my face! So then knew what it was. This time, the flashings were up in my scalp! So the Lidocaine patches wouldn’t help, because they would not stick to my hair, of course! So, the pain has stopped, but am on my way to the Doc, hoping she has some more magic to help me, for the next time.

So sorry you are experiencing this too…it’s a little devil, no?

I loved the picture of you getting baptized. Perfect! Which reminds me to get the shingles vaccine. I'm in a very interesting place with my body right now. In two weeks I'm running a very challenging 100K. I'm entering the hardest part of training. Tapering. I'm forcing myself to NOT run so that I can sufficiently rest and restore for the event. It is always so difficult to just trust the training and trust the work of tapering. Hope your gathering goes well.
