I will not crawl in a hole and pull a rug over me though I may for a little while. I will do the next right thing. I will read the teachings and follow the teachings of Jesus. I will do the next right thing.
Oh and 2 things we/I have done is to be sure Claire’s passport is current and her certificate of citizenship is quickly available! Someone else in my house went out and bought some gummies😬😬😂😘
In my ceramics class this am (where we ALL feel the same) a friend arrived late. I looked up from the wheel for a second to exchange a look. She passed me later, as my head was down working on my vase on the wheel and simply scratched my head. That simple gesture meant a lot. Another couple of friends and I went outside and just yelled at the empty ball field across from the studio. That’s all I have… who the f*** are these people? Are they that afraid of a smart woman? Left over HS issues about really hurting the geeks??
Just read this in Anne Lamott’s newest book in a chapter entitled Glimmer…
Love can leave bruises on the heart, an oceanic ache. When you give someone your best love, you too are filled with warmth. The world can be so lame, disappointing, and even mean, like an alcoholic father towering over us. But we can’t give up on love batting last or we are truly doomed. As Carl Sagan said, “For small creatures such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love.”
Reminds me of the William Sloane Coffin benediction that ends: "the world is now too dangerous for anything but truth, and too small for anything but love."

Thank you Pat! You are a treasure.

Thank you for these words and reminders.
