New Reads and a Reread: What's On My Bookshelf
Quick update today, with my first batch of books in 2022:
First, I reread John Green’s The Anthropocene Reviewed, in audio form. As my favorite book of last year, it was lovely to revisit it.
Next was Brandi Carlile’s memoir Broken Horses—another one well worth consuming via Audible, as she sings at the end of each chapter. Heaven.
Two non-fiction books next: Brene Brown’s Atlas of the Heart and Suzanne Stabile’s The Journey Toward Wholeness: Enneagram Wisdom for Stress, Balance, and Transformation. Both were very worthwhile.
And finally, I caught Julia Alvarez’s novel Afterlife. This was beautifully written and wrenching in all the right ways.
