From Garden to City: Landscapes of Faith
Ten Articles, Ten Study Guides, for Supporting Subscribers
Back in the late aughts, I wrote a monthly column for Presbyterians Today magazine for a number of years. My favorite series was called Landscapes of Faith, in which I looked at various geographical settings in the Hebrew and Christian scriptures to see what each landscape had to say about our own spiritual journeys. Last week’s article about landscapes prompted me to dig up those articles, and I decided to make them available to supporting subscribers. For each of the ten landscapes, there’s an article and then a study guide, appropriate for individual or group work.
A few examples are a bit dated; I had to resist the urge to revise and expand, instead letting the words of a decade ago speak to our current age. But I greatly enjoyed revisiting this work, and hope you enjoy it as well. I’d love to hear the ways you encounter these words and how this work addresses the landscapes of your own life.
